The Italian fashion house Fendi has come together with Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand Skims to collaborate for the capsule collection ‘Fendi X Skims.’

Skims is well known for its sculpting silhouettes and bold colours. The Roman brand Fendi recently broke the internet with their Versace collaboration ‘Fendace’, even after receiving criticism for their logomania collaboration, Kim Jones has been taking over creativity.

Fendi along with Skims shared their capsule collection on their social media platforms, sharing ad campaigns starring Kim Kardashian and a diversity of models.

The collection designed by Kim Kardashian and Kim Jones will have a clash of their logos in their designs, shapewear-inspired dresses, knitwear, and activewear in a variety of minimalist colours.

As both brands stand in different places in the fashion industry, this has been a big step for Skims and Kim Kardashian. Skims signed a deal with US retailer Nordstrom making the brand grow, and recently has been in the public eye after becoming the official underwear outfitter for Team USA female athletes at the Olympics.

Jones shared in a statement on CNN: ‘Both Fendi and Skims have a cultural power very different from each other, but equally as strong…The innovation in fabrics and fit typical to Skims paired with the luxury and quality of Fendi may feel unexpected to some people, but the similarities between our creative vision and goals are so closely aligned. It’s that tension that excites me.’

Fendi X Skims will drop on Nov. 9 at 6 a.m. PST, available on fendiskims.com and selected retailers worldwide.
