TYSON FURY & DILLIAN WHYTE | MEDIA CONFERENCE CALL – YouTube

With one of the biggest fights in British Boxing history just over a week away, Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury participated in virtual press conference answering questions about their preparations, thoughts and expectations for their up-and-coming World Heavyweight bout.

After purposely avoiding media engagement ahead of his world title fight with Tyson Fury,  Dillian ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte finally spoke to the media from his training camp in Algarve Portugal via zoom and reminded everyone listening when asked about his decision to finally address the media:

“It’s not the Tyson Fury show! If Tyson Fury was such a big star, he never sold out any of the fights with Deyonte Wilder. This show sold out because of me and Tyson Fury. I am a warrior. I’m a survivor, so I don’t dance to no one’s tune. We can dance together but it can’t be one way traffic. Once things are corrected or close to being corrected, I’m a professional at the end of the day so now here I am. I’m here and I’m ready.”

As the weigh in and fight night approaches both fighters will be going through their last week of preparation to be in their ideal state physically and mentally for this heavy weight clash. Champion Fury has been training in Morecombe in northwest England with trainer Trevor Sugar Hill Steward, along with his father and brother John and Tony and a select few others.

During the conference call Fury admitted “A lot of people are underestimating Dillian Whyte but not me. I am giving him the respect he deserves throughout the training camp. I am not underestimating this guy; I give him the respect like I did for Deontay Wilder and everyone else.”

When pressed on Dillian not attending the announcement press conference Fury said “I don’t think it really matters to be honest. After the first bell goes it doesn’t matter what he said, what I said. Its’s all down to the fists and the game plan and who does what on the night. We’re definitely going to put on a show and I’m looking forward to a massive night in boxing.

On Friday night both fighters will be at the weigh in, and we wait to see if there will be a traditional face to face showdown for the cameras before the sold out fight the following night Saturday April 23rd at Wembley Stadium.
