Daniel Farke’s Norwich City will welcome Neil Harris and his Lions to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon, in a game which could affect both the top and bottom of the Sky Bet Championship table.

Millwall will be looking to kill their Carrow Road curse, as it has been exactly 50 years since they last won there with a 3-0 victory. Millwall would love to repeat that result from 1968 and pick up a much needed first away win of the season.

Norwich sit pretty in second place after their fantastic 4-0 away win against Sheffield Wednesday. On the other hand, the Lions are looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford.

Dismal Away Record

Millwall, along with Rotherham, have the worst away record in the league with a dismal two points from a possible 24, their search for a league away win stretches back seven months. Without an away league win in their last 10 attempts, Norwich is probably the last team Harris’ men would want to face considering the torrid 50-year curse and respective league positions. Millwall remain a point above the relegation zone, with six teams in the bottom half of the table being separated by two points.

Manager Of The Month Nominee

Harris’ manager of the month nomination reflects well on the Lions as they collected 10 league points from a possible 15. However, Harris acknowledges Millwall must improve their away form to have any chance of avoiding relegation and improve their current league position. Speaking to the official Millwall club website, Harris said: “We have to have a clean-sheet mentality, which must be better on the road than it has been. It’s a demand of mine to my group that it has to change.”

Millwall will have to tighten up in defence if they are to have any chance of three points on Saturday; the Lions have conceded two or more goals in six of their last seven away games.

Danger Men

Norwich danger man Teemu Pukki will look to capitalise on the East London club’s leaky defence, after grabbing his first brace for Norwich since joining the club. The Finland international will be looking to add to his league goal tally of seven.

Captain Steve Morison, who grabbed Millwall’s only goal of the game in the corresponding fixture last season, will be raring to go as he aims to lead by example from the front. Lee Gregory will be eager to make amends for his quiet performance in the defeat to Brentford last weekend.

Harris has been working all week to ensure Millwall are firing on all cylinders come Saturday. However, he and the team have a difficult task ahead of them. Speaking to the Millwall website Harris said: “Are we just going to go and put a top performance in against the team who are second in the league? There are no guarantees, but I’d like to think we’ll be better than we were at Brentford.”

Norwich go into this home game knowing a win and slip up from league leaders Leeds will put them top of the pile ahead of the two-week league break. The Lions will go into the game encouraged by their performances before the Brentford game, knowing how tight it is at the bottom Harris’ men will be under pressure to perform.
