Leaving London For Rural Ireland

There’s something magical about nature, and Ireland is one of those countries with plenty of nature on offer. What’s more, it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to get there – plane tickets to Dublin start at £9.99.

Life in London can be really hectic, so my trip to Ireland was like rehabilitation and self-discovery all-in-one. See below to find out why.

Not long ago there were more sheep than people in Ireland. Though this is no longer the case, you could still fall asleep counting sheep.

Not that holidays are entirely stress-free. If this image isn’t already scary enough for you, take a look at this video:

There are thousands of locations which confirm that the camera in your phone is as good as the adverts said it would be.

Approaching the Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland

You will find long paths that lead you through the countryside. And I must say that walking those paths is really relaxing.

Giant’s Causeway is well known for its basalt columns formed into pentagons, hexagons and other geometrical shapes. Volcanic eruptions that occurred 50-60 million years ago, have left us with this wonder of nature.

Later, if you need a break from the natural world, there is also plenty of history on offer. Trinity College, Dublin, is one of the oldest colleges in Ireland.

Oscar Wilde may have been inspired to write by his beautiful homeland, although he probably wouldn’t admit it.

Dublin, and in fact everywhere in Ireland, thrums to the sound of fiddles and accordions. This is a just a taste but it will give you the idea:

If you want to get away from fast paced life but you still want to experience Ireland at its furthest and fullest, then Galway is the place for you. Especially the area close to the Cliffs of Moher.

When you first start your journey at the Cliffs of Moher, this is the signage that you will see. In the past people have fallen off these cliffs so you can’t be too careful.

Here’s the view from that part of the Cliffs not deemed dangerous.

Only 40 minutes’ drive from Dublin there is a beautiful National Park.

At the end of the day it’s all about the giants, vikings, fairies and other mystical creatures which make Ireland, Ireland!
