Millwall Lionesses are back in action this weekend, as they take on Tottenham Hotspur Ladies following the international break.

The Lionesses go into this weekend off the back of a dramatic game against Leicester City Women which saw them lose 3-2.

Top goal scorer Evie Clarke netted the two goals for Millwall, in a match which saw them finish with nine players. Clarke has now scored four goals this season, making her joint top goal scorer with Gabby Ravenscroft in all competitions.

The game was a tough battle for the Lionesses, but despite the defeat there are plenty of positives Millwall can take in to the clash against Tottenham.

The home side will still be looking to secure their first win of the season as they are currently sat at the bottom of the FA Women’s Championship in 11th.

Spurs Go Marching On

Back in October was the last time the two sides met. The Lionesses suffered an 8-0 defeat in an impressive performance from Tottenham, which saw Rianna Dean score a hat trick against her former side.

The opposition is still looking strong as they sit top of the table having won both of their fixtures in the new year so far.

International Stars

2019 has already been busy for the visitors, as four players were called up for international duty, including two former Lionesses. Dean was called up for England under 21’s training camp and Megan Wynne was named in the Wales senior squad to face Italy in a friendly.

Wynne was joined in the Welsh squad by fellow teammate Anna Filbey, whilst Jessica Naz played her part in the England under 19’s team in the Algarve Tournament.

Crucial Points

Both sides will be looking to claim the victory this weekend with points becoming increasingly crucial at this point of the season.

The match is set to take place at Dartford FC’s Princes Park Stadium on Sunday, with kick off at 2pm.
