David Moyes has called for ‘forgiveness’ for animal abuser Kurt Zouma. This comes after the West Ham star avoided a hostile reception at Leicester when he was taken out of the starting XI because of illness.

The defender heard his name booed loudly about 30 minutes before the game started – when he was still in the starting XI.

Yet moments later, Zouma had headed down the tunnel and was replaced in the team by Issa Diop.

David Moyes said this on the incident when speaking to dailymail.com ”We should not allow something like this to blight what has gone on. A mistake has been made and there are managers who have made mistakes. You want to feel there is forgiveness and an apology has been made.”

Souness tears into Zouma

Graeme Souness argues that Zouma should not play again for West Ham again this season after a video emerged of him kicking his cat.

Zouma played against Watford after the cat incident and was due to play against Leicester City but had to withdraw from the game after feeling ill.

Souness said on Sky Sports ”I have zero sympathy for him. ‘He’s turned up today and got abuse from his own supporters. West Ham’s roots are in the east end of London, salt of the earth people. People that would not, the vast majority would not, be accepting of it.”

What Happened?

On Sunday 6th February, a day after West Ham competed in the 4th Round of the FA Cup against Kidderminster, a video surfaced all over Snapchat and every other social media platform of the defender abusing his cat.

As a result of his actions, he has apologised and has been given a £250,000 fine, which is two weeks’ worth of wages. The 27 year old defender has had his cat taken away from him by the RSPCA. The fine will be donated to animal welfare charities.

Who Is Yoan Zouma And How Was He Involved?

Dagenham & Redbridge FC defender, Yoan Zouma, who is the brother of Kurt Zouma, was the person who was recording the horrible incident. Dagenham & Redbridge FC released a statement on the club website saying “Dagenham & Redbridge FC would again reiterate that it condemns any form of cruelty towards animals.”

Yoan is currently being investigated by the RSPCA and until the further investigation is complete The Daggers have decided that he will not be allowed to play in any competitive matches for them.

Other People’s Opinion On The Zouma Incident

This topic has now sparked all over social media and loads of people online have been voicing their opinions. A wide range of fans strongly agree for the Zouma brothers to be sacked from their clubs due to their behaviour shown in the video.

Kurt Zouma’s sponsorship with Adidas has now been terminated. However, some see this as an unfair punishment because of the racial abuse Luis Suarez gave to Patrice Evra and Suarez is still an Adidas athlete.

Michail Antonio said ‘Is it worse than racism?’ when asked about his thoughts on what Kurt Zouma has done.

Rapper Tion Wayne posted on Twitter a picture of three men in a horse race, whipping their horses to go faster and it was captioned by the rapper saying ‘These man been whipping horses in front of the queen and they are saying sack Zouma LOOOL.’
