Leyton Orient will be looking to get back to winning ways this Saturday when they welcome Newport County to Brisbane Road.

Following a 2-1 loss to Bristol Rovers last time out in the Papa John’s trophy, Ross Embleton’s side will be hoping to bounce back against the table toppers.

Newport, who haven’t lost in their last six, got the better of the O’s just last month when they knocked the East London side out of the FA Cup.

Orient are sitting in ninth in the table after 16 games with 24 points. The O’s endured a shaky start to the campaign picking up just one win in their opening six, but three wins out of their next four propelled them up the table.

Team News

Craig Clay is back in action for Orient after spending four weeks on the side-lines and played the whole 90 minutes midweek against Bristol Rovers.

Jamie Turley was sent off in that game so will serve his suspension and be unavailable against his former club.

For the Visitors, captain Joss Labadie has served his suspension and will return to the heart of the Welsh sides midfield that has been dominant so far in the league.

County manager Michael Flynn is happy lining up with either a back three or four, leaving the O’s unsure on how their opposition will shape up on Saturday.

Previous Meeting

The last meeting between the sides came just a month ago in the second round of the Emirates FA Cup as County progressed to the third round with a 2-1 win.

Ashley Baker opened the scoring for the welsh side, before Orient levelled through Hector Kyprianou just before half-time.

Newport’s winner came from Jamie Devitt, who grabbed his first for the club after joining on loan from Blackpool in the summer.
