Days after dropping major hints of a third part to the series ‘McCartney’, Paul McCartney announced his latest solo album titled ‘McCartney III.’

The album, which will be released on December 11th, will be his 18th release as a solo artist, following McCartney in 1970 and McCartney II in 1980.

Teasers started on Spotify when fans noticed an animation of a dice bearing three dots appearing on tracks from his previous albums.

McCartney told GQ that lockdown gave him time to write and finish songs that he had postponed. Confirming that the album was recorded during the lockdown in his home in Sussex.

In an interview earlier this year with Loud and Quiet magazine, McCartney said the album is about ‘love and freedom’, which is how he feels at the moment.

At 78 years old, there is a lot of speculation that this album will be his last, but during an interview he joked ‘everything I do is always supposed to be my last.

It’s the rumour mill, but that’s OK.’
