London On Lockdon This trace of happier times now looks like someone fiddling before 'Rome' begins to burn Now chains separate the staff from empty trains And people are forced to fight over what's left once the stockpilers have emptied all the shelves Theatre has given way to Netflix, while London waits to rise again Restaurants are dark. Those already isolated have to isolate themselves some more... ... though at least councils are now compelled to house the homeless. And meanwhile we move forwards alone, wondering when it all will end.
