Residents and businesses in the Spitalfields area have just taken part in a referendum to find out if they want all future development in the area to adhere to conditions laid down in the Spitalfields Neighborhood Plan put together by the Spitalfields Neighbourhood Planning Forum in order to protect the area from overdevelopment.
Rising East took to the streets of Spitalfields to test the water by asking one local business owner what they thought about the arrival of more blocks in the area, and his worry was that handled incorrectly, development could mean the end of Brick Lane as we know it.
