Jeremy Corbyn’s Remembrance Day coat has attracted harsh criticism in the press for being dull and informal. The Daily Mail went as far as suggesting his “anorak” was “scruffy and disrespectful.”

But people who like Corbyn do so because they see him as an everyday person, and so why can’t he wear an everyday coat?

By slamming his raincoat the press are looking down on anyone else who wears one like it too, and are therefore contributing to the class divide.

The important thing is that Corbyn paid his respects to the fallen soldiers, and he should be judged by his actions, not by his coat.

Remembrance Day is not a fashion show. It’s a day on which to show your respects, not your new coat.
