MCM Comic Con has finally returned to East London bringing together London’s nerds and geeks under one giant roof.
For one weekend Excel London was transformed into a magical place filled with fantasy characters, anime-themed stores and live talks from the likes of Loki (Tom Hiddleston).
This was the first convention since Covid-19 struck, so people grabbed the opportunity to don their complex cosplay creations and show them off to the world.
The global cosplay market took a hit during lockdown, but is expected to recover soon as people get back to conventions, and is projected to be worth 23 billion in 2030.
The consensus from the ten verterans we spoke to below was the same: less stores and less people, but just as much fun and atmosphere as before.
