Top Spot in Sight For Greenwich Ahead Of Lilywhites Clash

The Boro’ are looking to make it three wins in three when they welcome Kent based side Faversham Town to the DGS Marine Stadium this Saturday.

Greenwich are currently riding high after thumping six goals past bottom-placed Molesey, when they travelled to Surrey on Tuesday night.

Five of those goals came from former Chelmsford City man and current top scorer Jack Barham, with Travis Gregory netting the other for the South Londoners.

That win moved the Cannons above Cray Wanderers into fourth, with a chance of claiming a league title still in their sights as the Bostik South campaign reaches a climax.

Clear Objectives

Greenwich Borough manager Paul Barnes spoke to London News Online regarding the development and future of Barham, stating: “Even though the club has got objectives it wants to achieve, I’m always going to stick to our ethos as a club – we have got to be showing we are there to help players progress to that next level.”

Barham, 21, has already spent time on trial at Millwall and Cambridge United this season, with many wondering about his future at the club after a great individual campaign, topping the league’s scoring charts with 26 goals.

Fresh Opposition

Faversham come into this one without a win in five, last overcoming Phoenix Sports 3-2 back in January.  However, they’ll be the fresher of the two sides, having not played a fixture yet this week, unlike Greenwich who played on Tuesday.

Currently sitting 18th, despite not being in danger of being relegated, the Lilywhites will be looking to end their poor run with victory against the Cannons come Saturday afternoon.
