This Week, University of East London women’s hockey team face Royal Veterinary College Women’s 2nd away from home.

The blues will be looking to continue on their successes after securing another point last week.

They drew 1-1 against league leaders University of Greenwich on home turf at the Lee Valley Tennis and Hockey Centre.

Looking At The Positives

Unlike previous years – this season the blues were able to field a full team with ease, including some substitutes which has been a struggle for UEL Women’s in prior seasons.

With only one win and a draw, UEL currently sit 5th in the table.

Although currently out of the relegation zone, it is now vital for UEL to widen the gap between themselves and bottom of the league University of Hertfordshire 2nd.

The Opposition

Royal Veterinary College Women’s 2nd currently sit one space above UEL in the league, with just one more point. UEL will be looking to use the boost from their previous result and come away with a crucial win.

Of course this will not be easy, as both teams are now battling to avoid being involved in relegation.

This season,Royal Veterinary College Women’s 2nd have only had 2 wins, both against University of Hertfordshire 2nd and have taken some thrashings themselves, including a 5-0 loss to University of the Arts London Women’s 1st.

Where?

The clash will take place on Wednesday 30th January and pushback is scheduled for 2pm. As it is an away fixture, it will be held at Royal Veterinary College home facilities at Furzfield Centre.
