UEL Men’s 2nd team are back in action as they come up against London South Bank University Men’s 1st Team at SportsDock, tip-off at 1:30pm.

When these two teams last met on the 24th of October 2018, LSBU won a nail-biter at the LSBU Sports Center 98-95.

Strong Showing

Since that defeat, UEL have gone on a three-game winning streak, with the most recent victory being an incredible 63-point win over Bath University away from home at Founders Hall in late November.

UEL put in the hard yards during the half-time interval

As it has been almost two months since UEL have faced an opponent in the league, it would be understandable if there were some signs of rust. However, starting Center Curtis Hayden states this should not be an excuse for the team: “We’ve had training and felt good and are in shape due to scrimmages and working out in the Christmas break, so that shouldn’t be an excuse for us”.

Tough Test

LSBU are currently joint top of the South Eastern 1A table with Surrey University, sitting on 12 points. If UEL can pull off the win on Wednesday, they will join the two clubs atop of the table, as they are currently on nine points, also with a game in hand over both teams.

As for the away side, they are looking to end a two-game losing streak, with previous defeats coming to Hertfordshire and Royal Holloway University, both being away from home.
