UEL Netball first team smashed Kings College London 10’s 60-6 at the Sports Dock on Wednesday afternoon.

Defensively Strong

UEL showed why they are in such good form, dismantling the visitors by restricting them from the outset with the girls only conceding three points in the first half.

UEL were professional throughout the game despite coming up against lower opposition with centre Tallie Meager producing key interceptions and passes to increase UEL’s lead.

The Shooting Show

Another high scoring win for the netballers and the credit must go the girls in the attacking circle with Goal Attack Sibahle Mguga continuing her red-hot start to the season.

Goal Shooter Holly Daly was also among the goals in the circle.

UEL started scoring quickly with 18 goals in the first quarter and another 13 in the second quarter, which set UEL up perfectly for the second half.

However, a slow start by the girls’ high standards saw only nine points scored in the third but as Kings College London started to tire UEL rammed home their advantage scoring a whopping 21 points in the last quarter.

In The Bag

The draw has already been made for the next round. UEL face another Kings College team this time the ninth team who shocked last week’s opponents Canterbury Christchurch threes.

The tie is set to take place in two weeks’ time on the 23rd of November 2022.

Back With A Bang

Captain Kyra Boyce came back with a bang after missing last week’s league game at Canterbury, winning player of the match after a controlling performance from centre.

Next Up

Both teams return to league action next week with UEL, hoping to keep the winning streak going, at home against UCL eights.

Kings College London 10s are also at home as they face West London twos.
