The UEL Women’s football first team return to BUCS competition against Queen Mary University Women’s first team this Wednesday.

Brunel claiming the league title has dismissed any relevance on the result, but UEL will be playing for pride and focused on finishing the campaign on a high.

Sadly, UEL narrowly lost 2-1 to the University of Bristol in the BUCS Football Trophy quarter-finals last week which ended their hopes of obtaining silverware this season.

Lifting Spirits

UEL have produced a very commendable campaign with only three losses to their name in total.

However, after losing out on the league title their confidence seems to have taken a knock with two of their three losses coming in their subsequent two games.

This match against Queen Mary will be crucial in helping them to regain confidence and to end their season on a positive note.

Resounding Result

Queen Mary University have failed to win any of their last six outings. When the teams last met, the east-London side emerged with a thumping 13-1 victory away from home.

UEL will be looking to repeat this success, while searching for their first clean sheet in six games.

Natural Leaders

Captain Daisy Davis will need to motivate her team who might be lacking in confidence after recent results.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ellie Bird must rally her defence and prove why she is one of the most influential players on the team.

Travel Guide

The game takes place this Wednesday 27th February at Mabley Green (3G), Lee Conservancy Road, E9 5RN with kick-off at 14:00.
