The UEL Women’s football first team return to BUCS competition against St Mary’s University Women’s first team this Wednesday.

After Brunel claimed the league title, UEL will be focused on maintaining their winning form and finishing the campaign on a positive note.

They remain in cup competition after a penalty shoot-out victory over Brunel last week; their winning mentality will be pivotal in their attempts to win the Trophy.

Having been unable to defeat Brunel in two attempts before the match, coming out victorious on their third meeting should keep confidence high.

Keeping Consistency

UEL have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four games so they will be turning to their most influential player, goalkeeper Ellie Bird, to rally the defence.

Despite the league title falling out of reach, the team will be hungry and determined to extend their eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions this week.

Staying Positive

St Mary’s have lost their last two games, losing to Bournemouth and Brunel in the league and cup respectively but sit one place behind their opponents, UEL.

They will be keen to get back to winning ways after two consecutive defeats. This fixture could impact the final league standings, and will mean everything for confidence and mentality.

Travel Guide

The game takes place on Wednesday 13th February at the Teddington Lock Sports Centre in South West London, with kick-off at 14:00.
