Despite the sport having a national side as well as eight university clubs and 70 clubs across the mainland UK the sport is largely unknown.
The sport consists of two teams each with six players a side playing with a weighted puck that sinks to the bottom of the pool.
The teams play using small sticks alongside snorkels and flippers to move through the water.
We decided to follow a session along with Lewisham Underwater Hockey Club and see how they got on along as well as speak to some of the coaches and players.
