What Do Students Hope For?

When we reach a certain age, we begin to worry about the future, and questions such as “where do you see yourself in 5 years” and “what are your plans for the future” begin to linger in the back of our minds.

As we get older and more aware of ourselves and our surroundings, we begin to have hopes and dreams, and we wonder what the future holds. Some people find it difficult to talk about the future, while others see no harm in sharing their thoughts. Rising East reporter Khadijat Akande took up the challenge and spoke with students about their thoughts on the subject and their hopes for the future.

Planning for the future is important, which is why people attend universities, choose career paths, save money, and so on. All in the pursuit of a happy and fulfilled life. So, where do students see themselves in 5 years?

I asked some East London students and got some interesting answers.
Cha’Mari talked about growth, spirituality, and of “not being ready to go back to
America”, while Emma, who studies psychology, sees herself hopefully working with the FBI. Meanwhile Mojeed “can’t wait to get married and have kids”,  and Kareemah doesn’t really like speaking about the future.
