The BandLabs NME awards are set to take place on Wednesday 2nd March 2022 at London’s O2 Brixton Academy, with special performances from Sam Fender, Griff and Rina Sawayama. Singer Halsey will be the special guest of the night, appearing to accept the Innovation award.

A full list of nominations along with additional live performances will be announced in the upcoming months.

Sam Fender is going to bring a taste of his Number One album “Seventeen Going Under” which was released earlier on this year. NME have praised his thrilling stage presence and are looking forward to his performance on the night.

NME 100 alumni Griff is set to give fans a taste of the future after her debut mixtape was released, titled “One Foot In Front Of The Other”.

The awards ceremony, which celebrates the best musicians and entertainment from all over the world, last took place in 2020. Unfortunately, it could not take place in 2021 due to a national lockdown in England and the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The event will be sponsored by social music platform BandLab, which will include big named guests and will honour music, films, TV and video games that shaped the past year.

There will also be an introduction of award categories specific to Asia, after NME furthered their global reach with Australian categories in 2020.

Previous performers include The 1975, AJ Tracey, Yungblud and Slowthai
