The 2020-21 BBL Cup fixtures have been officially confirmed.

The BBL Cup was due to start on Saturday 31 October but there was some wariness that the season wouldn’t tip-off due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

However, due to financial support from the government, the cup is able to go ahead on schedule, albeit behind closed doors.

How the cup will work

The 11 entries have been split into three groups as below and teams will play both home and away.

Group 1 – Bristol Flyers, Plymouth Raiders, Surrey Scorchers, Worcester Wolves

Group 2 – Cheshire Phoenix, Glasgow Rocks, Manchester Giants

Group 3 – Leicester Riders, London Lions, Newcastle Eagles, B.Braun Sheffield Sharks

These games will start on 31 October and will run through till the end of November.

The bottom team from each group will then be eliminated and the quarter-finals will work out as below.

Group 1 winner v Group 3 third place
Group 3 winner v Group 1 third place
Group 2 winner v Group 1 runner-up
Group 3 runner-up v Group 2 runner-up

The Semi-Finals will be determined by a draw, but games will play out on the following dates.

Quarter-Finals (Single Leg) – 11th-13th December

Semi-Finals (Two-Legged) – 8th-10th January 2021.

Final – Sunday 24th January 2021
