31 year old former Arsenal and France ace Samir Nasri is reportedly undergoing a medical at West Ham United and is expected to complete a deal seeing him earn £80,000 a week.

Hammers In Pole Position

There is believed to have been interest from other top sides, most notably Everton, but it seems the Hammers have beaten them in the race to sign the former Premier League winner.

The midfielder has been a free agent since January when he mutually terminated his contract at Turkish Süper Lig side Antalyaspor.

The move comes ahead of the completion of his doping ban. Nasri was handed an 18 month suspension from the world anti-doping agency after violating regulations by using an intravenous drip.

In Hot Water

He is said to have received 500 milliliters of nutrient-infused water whilst he was on holiday in Los Angeles in December 2016.

Nasri is close to completing a move to the London Stadium

His contract is believed to currently stand at six months with the option of an extension and should he sign he will be eligible to play from 1 January 2019.

Potential Replacement

It comes after summer signing Andriy Yarmolenko was ruled out for six months with an Achilles injury after being stretchered off in October’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Nasri has history with currently West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini, playing under the Chilean during his five year stint with current Premier League champions Manchester City.
