MTK Global have announced that their first show of the year will take place at the mecca of British boxing, York Hall, on February 22nd.

The card will be headlined by Belfast-born Paddy Gallagher who will be squaring-off for the vacant WBO European Welterweight title against Islington-based Freddy Kiwitt (13-2).

Gallagher (15-4) will be looking to add another belt to his collection that already includes the BUI and BBBofc Celtic Titles.

The 29-year-old is returning to the capital for the first time since 2016 when he suffered a decision loss to Tamuka Mucha.

He takes on Liberian-born Kiwitt who will be stepping in the ring for the first time in nearly a year. The welterweight has made York Hall his home as of late, with his last five fights all occurring at the iconic venue.

Stacked Undercard

Along with the main event, the card is set to feature some of the brightest young prospects from across the UK and abroad.

Local talents such as Dan Azeez (6-0), Liam Wells (3-0), Siar Ozgul (14-2), Jack Ewbank (1-0), Daniel Egbunike (3-0) and Josh Adewale (1-0).

Two bright young Kazakhs in Sultan Zaurbek (3-0) and Nurtas Azhbenov (2-0) will also feature along with Danny Dignum (9-0) who will be hoping for a big year to propel himself into British contention.

York Hall was used three times by MTK Global last year, and President Bob Yalen is looking forward to what the New Year has to bring:

“We are extremely excited to be kicking off what will be a huge 2019 for MTK Global with an event at one of the most recognised and historic boxing venues in the world.

“So many great fights and great nights have been staged at York Hall and we’re confident we’ll deliver another fantastic event for the fans.

“On this show, there’ll be some elite prospects – both domestic and international – plus step-up fights for some of our fastest-rising stars as well as title fights topping the card.

“It’s a great way to begin a busy run of fight nights and to provide fans with what they have come to expect and what we at MTK Global expect to deliver.”

The event will be streamed live on the iFL YouTube page and tickets are available on the following link: http://mtkglobalstore.com/tickets/
