Standing at 6ft 5″ Dirk Williams is a shooting guard who plays for the London Lions. Born 24th August 1994 in Homewood, Alabama, Williams is a graduate of the University of Alabama.

Williams started his career at Sheffield Sharks in the 2017/2018 season, before moving to Zalakeramia ZTE in Hungary two years later. Having only featured for three teams, he is by no means a journeyman yet.

Williams is in the top three in the BBL for athleticism. He is not only a great shooter of the ball from the mid-range or behind the arc but he is capable of pulling off the dunk of the season at any given moment. He is one of the most electrifying players on this side of the Atlantic and is worth the admission fee alone.

‘BBL Deserves More Recognition’

Last season, the 26-year-old played 21 games for Zalakeramia where he posted an average of 17 points per game, shooting 51.7% from the field. He averaged 1.7 assists per game, while also averaging 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks.

Speaking to the British Basketball League website, London Lions’ head coach Vince Macaulay said: “he [Williams] is so versatile, so athletic and can also shoot the ball extremely well. I think he will thrive in the many competitions we play in.”
