University of East London women’s hockey team will come up against University of Hertfordshire women’s 2nd away from home.

The Blues will be looking to secure some more points as the pressure draws in for results in the second half of the season.

Last Time Around

UEL’s last game resulted in a 1-1 draw against table toppers, University of Greenwich Women’s 1st.

Unfortunately, their momentum has since come to a halt as last week their fixture against Royal Veterinary College Women’s 2nd was cancelled last minute due to a frozen pitch.

UEL currently sit 5th in the table with just four points, but there is an opportunity to climb up the table by gaining some extra points from the three games in hand they have over their league opponents.

Although currently out of the relegation zone, UEL will be looking to widen the gap between themselves and the team at the bottom of league team who are their opponents this week with a win.

The Opposition

University of Hertfordshire Women’s 2nd currently sit bottom of the league, just one below UEL. They have played all seven possible games yet have zero points on the board.

In their priorhome fixture, UEL were able to scrape a 1-0 win against University of Hertfordshire Women’s 2nd and walk away with three points as well as their first win of the season. The Blueswill of course be looking to do the double over their opponents at their home ground.

University of Hertfordshire Women’s 2nd will be doing anything to avoid relegation which is looming over them and avoid another thrashing. They have a goal difference of -53 with their biggest loss coming at home against University of the Arts London Women’s 1stwhich ended 16-0.

Where?

The game will take place on Wednesday the 6th of February. Asit is an away fixture, the match will be held in Hertfordshire at the Hertfordshire Sports Village, with pushback scheduled for 2pm.
