The University of East London firsts are preparing for their South Eastern Conference Cup fixture away to Brunel University on Sunday.

The East Londoners come into the game having seen off Buckinghamshire New and London School of Economics in the previous rounds, whilst Brunel have beaten Hertfordshire and Queen Mary to get this far.

Difficult Draw

UEL coach Trevor Tamatave is expecting a tough game, but is confident in his side’s ability.

“Brunel will be a difficult team to play, they have some good players and they always do well.” claimed Tamatave, “We’ll have to be at our best, but I know that it’s a game we should win if we don’t make any silly mistakes.”

UEL in action against Canterbury

Good Form

Both sides come into the tie off the back of a win in their previous game, with UEL avoiding upset in a 13-9 victory over Canterbury Christ Church as Brunel comfortably beat their third team 9-2. This means that UEL’s first team have won every game this season, while Brunel have just extended their winning run to four games.

The match kicks off at 5pm at Brunel’s home ground, the Sports Centre in Uxbridge, and with both teams playing well and aiming for silverware, it promises to be an exciting affair.
