Bromley’s under 18’s side struck five times to knock their Maidenhead counterparts out of the FA Youth Cup, progressing to the first-round proper.

The visitors had the first chance of the game when the ball broke to Christian Johnson, but the forward struck just wide of Cemal Osman’s goal.

The hosts first opportunity came when Callum Corbin curled a free kick towards the top left corner and forced a smart save from William Cornwall in The Magpies net.

Johnson again caused Bromley problems when he got on the end of a cross, but a brilliant block from Ravens captain Frankie Hvid denied him.

Wonder Strike

Bromley took the lead in the 23rd minute, Noah Joyce curling a free kick into the top right hand corner from 25 yards out. The ball never looked like missing once it left Joyce’s boot despite the best effort from Cornwall in the Maidenhead goal.

Individual Brilliance

Lateef Udaja doubled the hosts, the striker receiving the ball on the half-way line, nut-megging his opponent before driving towards the box, Udaja cut in on his weaker left foot and curled a brilliant effort into the top left corner

The scoring in the first half wasn’t done there, centre half Sam German glancing in a header on the stroke of half-time.

Lapse In Concentration

A minute into the second half Bromley made it four. Maidenhead gifted Bromley possession when a loose pass across the back line was latched onto by Shakur Beech, who slotted home.

Lack Of Threat

The visitors struggled to threaten the Bromley goal in the second half, their best chance coming ten minutes after the hosts fourth goal, when a long ball over the top reached Baily Jeffries who caught the ball on the half volley, but fired straight into the hands of Osman.

Calmness From The Spot

Twenty minutes from time Bromley got their fifth and final goal when Callum Corbin tucked away a penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way after Udaja’s pace had got him in behind the Maidenhead defence and subsequently brought down.

Five goals from five different goal scorers. A convincing performance from the young Ravens side who will await to find out who they will face in the next round.
