Pop singer Alex O’Connor, commonly known as Rex Orange County, announced via a Twitter post that he will be appearing in London On March 16 at a pop-up merch shop, celebrating the release of his fourth album ‘Who Cares’, which was released March 11.

Who Cares? was recorded in Amsterdam during a 12-day period.

The pop-up shop is set to take place at 59 Greek Street in Soho, London from 12 till 8pm. He has encouraged fans to go along with the tweet saying: “Come down and say hey. Get something signed, get a selfie”.

There was also a pop-up shop in New York, which ran over the previous weekend.

Rex is known for his Indie bedroom pop tunes, including a mixture of jazz and hip hop such as Best Friend and Sunflower. He also plays instruments like guitar, piano, drums and saxophone which got him into BRIT school aged 17.

Rex released his first self-produced album “Bcos U Will Never B Free” in 2015. The 2019 song “Pluto Projector” went viral on Tiktok in 2020 with creators on the app making 30-second videos showing the ‘glow up’ they have had from when they were babies to their current age.

On Tour

The 23-year-old Loving Is Easy singer is set to go on tour in 2022, travelling North America, the UK and Ireland. His only London date is at Gunnersbury Park on August 13th.  

On his new album, Rex has teamed up with American Hip Hop rapper Tyler The Creator for the song “Open A Window”. The two have previously worked together on Tyler’s 2017 album “Flower Boy”.  

Last week, Rex performed an intimate solo show, his first in 2 years due to Covid. His set at Hackney Church marked the launch of Mola Chill Club. The private club is for music fans worldwide and grants access to concerts, secret gigs, and music events, with only a few fans being allowed to go after being selected at random.
